Haiku is our HTML5-based audio player plugin for WordPress. We chose to build our plugin with HTML5 instead of Flash because it works well on mobile devices like the iPhone, iPad, and Android, as well as on the desktop. The plugin is based on the jPlayer audio plugin from Happyworm.
Our first version of the plugin was deliberately spartan?there was no graphical player at all, in fact. It was just a text player that looked like this:

Now we’ve introduced a graphical version of the player, which looks like this:
